Based on the play of Sara Stridsberg (Nordic Council's Literature Prize, elected to the 13th chair on the Swedish Academy), Medealand is the exposure of a double psychosis: the one of Medea the infanticide, and the other of our sick and dehumanised society.
A woman who has killed her two children - or who claims to have killed them, arrives at the hospital, seeking for help. Her name is Medea; she is a refugee. She is placed under observation in the psychiatric department, awaiting trial and deportation to her country of origin.
Medea communicates by Skype: the screen becomes her mental space, the mirror of her consciousness.
